Let me guess. As someone who's been playing around with makeup ever since you found out where your mom hid her makeup bag, you've tried every makeup trend that exists (including these trend no no's) ... and now you're looking for something new to try this spring. Right?
Well, then you're going to love these new eye makeup looks. With the help of a few celebrity makeup artists, I found seven fun things to try with your eye makeup. Each one comes with cool tips on how to re-create the look yourself, which you can find here. Check them out below -- they're all so gorgeous, you won't be able to decide which one to try first.
No. 1: Walk like an Egyptian
Michelle Trachtenberg's big eyes seem to pop even more with this winged eyeliner trick. Line both your upper and lower lash lines with black liner, then drag your liner out from the outer corner of your eye to where your eyebrow ends. The winged part should be thinner than the liner around your eye to get the cool Egyptian vibe.
No. 2: Pretty in pastel
Scarlett Johansson shows how to wear this pretty trend the right way. Makeup artist Rachel Wood thinks, "powdery pastel washes" are so soft and wearable on the eyes, and we agree -- the look is perfect for spring. When you're picking colors, think "lavender, sea foam green, iced blue or peach sherbet," says MAC Senior Artist Victor Cembellin.
No. 3: See it in 2D
Katy Perry's two-toned shadow adds so much dimension to her eyes, and it "is a trick used more commonly than you think," says celebrity makeup artist Jake Bailey. He created Perry's sparkly lavender and lime green look for the Grammys using COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Citrus Flair, $7.99, and he recommends using "the paler shade on the lower eye, and the darker shade on the lid."
No. 4: Chase away those blues
Whether you prefer Kerry Washington's vivid blue look or Tamera Mowry's lighter teal shade, we're loving this new spin on the smoky eye look. "The goal of this eye look is for it to be bold, blue and beautiful," says makeup artist Marissa Nemes. Start by blending the deepest blue right into the crease. Then "take the paler side and apply it on the inner corners of your eyes and a tiny bit under your brow bone to open up your eyes," she says.
No. 5: Sex kitten, redefined
This trend was taken from the runway, but celebrities like Amanda Seyfried and Malin Akerman are showing how it's totally wearable as a sexy evening look. The trick? Instead of using liner to create the cat-eye look, blend a smoky charcoal shadow on the outer edge of your lid and sweep it outward to where your eyebrow ends. And for the love of all things feline, keep your lips natural to balance out those sultry eyes.
No. 6: Go gold
Who else is obsessed with January Jones' soft gold eye makeup? We love the way the subtle shimmer draws you into her blue eyes. The best part about gold shadow is that it looks beautiful with any eye color. Just be sure to pick a shadow that isn't too chunky or glittery, which can look a bit overwhelming in the spring.
No. 7: It's up to the brow
We're already jealous of Hailee Steinfeld's gorgeous brows, but this new makeup trend makes them look even more amazing. If you're going with a darker color, use your fingers to blend the shadow lightly from your lash line all the way up to the brow. Or if you're using a neutral color, pat the shadow on with a brush and then apply a bit of shimmery shadow directly on the brow bone to add more flair.
