2011 Eyewear Trends

This year’s eyewear fashion trends promise a colorful summer. Expect frames in water color tints, ranging from bright blue to night blue and turquoise. Furthermore we will see many earth and sand tones like loam, clay, mud and red earth. Other leading roles for this summer will be played by pink and white. Retro frames will make a huge comeback. Think round and butterfly retro glasses like the Ray-ban round metal frame (think John Lennon) and oversized Ralph Lauren’s butterfly sunglasses.

Vintage

Butterfly-shaped frames could be seen on many spring/summer 2011 runways and are a favorite among trendsetters like Scarlett Johansson and Lady Gaga. No better way to pay tribute to the Roaring Twenties.

Cool Blue

Blue will be one of the most prominent trend colors for 2011 and comes in all shades. Night blue, turquoise, cobalt blue, aquamarine,… you name it. Sienna Miller, Kelly Osbourne, Paris Hilton and Lily Allen are just some of the celebrities spotted with blue-framed sunglasses.

Fiery Red

Apart from cool blues, hot reds are an essential addition to your eyewear collection for next season. It will be one of the hottest accent colors for spring/summer 2011 and therefore is the perfect choice for accessories like sunglasses. Looking for some examples? Paris Hilton, Sienna Miller and Angelina Jolie could all be seen wearing red frames.

Girly White and Pink

The hit for next spring/summer! Don’t be afraid to explore your more girly side by alternating your red and blue frames with pink or white ones. With people like Christina Aguilera, Drew Barrymore and Lilly Allen you’re in good company.
